The drama of B-17s of the 34th Bomb Group returning from a raid in the final weeks of the war is skilfully portrayed against one of Robert Taylor’s equally dramatic English skies. In a painting packed with atmosphere and highly detailed content, this magnificent image not only brings to life the glorious Flying Fortresses of the USAAF, but also the lives of the brave young men who flew them.
Company of Heroes by Robert Taylor is signed by two 34th Bomb Group skippers:
Captain Rolland H. Whited
Lieutenant Colonel Robert W Dees.
With the print comes a matching numbered Robert Taylor Masterworks Book, signed by Robert and 24 WW2 veterans, six of whom fought in the Battle of Britain/France. The remainder are Hawker Hurricane, Typhoon, Tempest or Sea Fury pilots.
An incredible set, both print and book are in excellent condition., the print having never been framed.
