This is a A3 sized ORIGINAL gouache painting of 616 & 611 Squadron Battle of Britain Spitfire pilot Colin Hamilton MacFie. This image is famous for being taken at Fowlmere when 616 Sqn visited 19 Sqn in Sept 1940. This painting by aviation portrait artist Steve Teasdale is highly detailed on high quality, heavyweight watercolour paper. The painting comes with a highly collectable genuine combat report ‘Form F’ dated 27th March 1941. On this day Colin MacFie damaged a ME110 over Littlehampton whilst flying a Spitfire of Blue Flight. The combat report has been signed by MacFie at the bottom. This is an amazing piece of history and a rare signature. The combat report has some light folds and creases and the date stamp underneath the signature is incorrect but genuine at time of signing. This would look amazing framed up and we can even supply a piece of spitfire aluminium if required at extra cost.
