This is one of the best copies of this relatively rare first edition from 1957 that we have seen. The book has some spotting on the page ends only visible when the book is closed but the dustjacket is bright, whole and clean. Best Foot Forward details the wartime career of Colin ‘Hoppy’ Hodgkinson, a young flight Lieutenant who lost both legs in a flying accident but became determined to fly again. He finished the war with a couple of victories. The book has been enhanced with an original pencil drawing of Hodgkinson by Steve Teasdale and also features the genuine signature of Colin Hodgkinson mounted underneath. Not an easy signature to come by. The book also comes with a newspaper obituary for Colin Hodgkinson from 1996.
