This highly detailed original pencil drawing by Steve Teasdale features the genuine signature of Battle of Britain Commander Sir Hugh Caswell Dowding. This is a later Dowding signature and hence is slightly shaky. The drawing has been triple mounted to conservation standards and the beautiful frame includes UV protective glass to prevent any fading. This true investment piece measures approximately 44x38cm overall and the image itself is roughly 15x11 cm. Unfortunately we cannot post this framed piece outside the UK but we would be willing to send the mount and drawing ready to be framed if so wished ( no price difference unfortunately).
Air Chief Marshal Hugh Caswall Tremenheere Dowding, 1st Baron Dowding, GCB, GCVO, CMG (24 April 1882 – 15 February 1970) was Air Officer Commanding RAF Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain and is generally credited with playing a crucial role in Britain's defence, and hence, the defeat of Adolf Hitler's plan to invade Britain.
