This is an original portrait of Lord Dowding, AOC Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain. It has been painted in acrylic paints by aviation portrait artist Steve Teasdale and signed in pencil by 9 of ‘The Few’ - Bob Foster, Tom Neil, Terry Clark, Terence Kane, Tony Pickering, Bill Green, Nigel Rose, Len Davies and Ken Wilkinson. In conversation, the majority of veterans spoke very highly of Lord Dowding. Sadly, only Terry Clark is still with us at the time of writing. In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain this is a unique piece of signed artwork at an affordable price.
