This is a stunning tribute to 92 Sqn Battle of Britain Spitfire pilot Geoffrey Wellum & author of First Light. Artist Steve Teasdale has teamed up with semi-pro kit builder Phil Gibbon to produce this amazing diorama. The 1:48 spitfire has been built to an extremely high standard, with subtle weathering and incredible cockpit detail ( the photos really don’t do it justice ). The markings are from a spitfire flown by both Geoff and Tony Bartley in late Battle of Britain. The spitfire has been placed on a diorama measuring 25x25 cm. An original pencil drawing of Geoffrey Wellum by Steve Teasdale has been professionally mounted underneath a clear acrylic window, along with a genuine pencil signature by Geoff. Altogether this creates a lovely tribute of one of the most famous of all fighter pilots from WW2. The spitfire has not beeen glued to the base to provide ease of transportation. Please be aware that we would rather not send this delicate piece through the post and collection would be preferable. UK only buyers please.
