This is a genuine Avro Lancaster green downward identification lamp cover. The light was positioned on the underside of the fuselage towards the back of the aircraft. The Bakelite case has the Air Ministry logo and King's crown mounded on the rim, along with the part number. This was a genuine spares part when purchased by us. The glass has been decorated with an Avro Lancaster silhouette in enamel paints by Steve Teasdale. This lovely piece has then been mounted in a deep frame (approx 32X32 cm) with an official and original Air Ministry photograph of a daylight raid on Germany, taken from a Lancaster. There seem to be a couple of Lancasters also flying in the image over a German town. The photograph has been signed by Dambuster George 'Johnny' Johnson. A lovely display piece.
