This is a 2001 First Ed of Dilip Sarkar’s Fighter Pilot. It includes two specially produced bookplates which have been signed by RAF fighter pilots who feature in the book. Sir Alan Smith flew as Douglas Bader’s wingman, protecting his tail during air combat. The day he was unfit to fly with a cold is the day that Bader was shot down. Laurence Thorogood flew Hurricanes with 87 Squadron during the Battle of Britain.
