This is a specially produced bookplate made with recycled sepia card. It features the genuine signature of Lt Col Terence Otway, leader of the paras who famously attacked the Merville Battery at D-Day. The signature has been professionally mounted underneath an original pencil portrait drawing of Otway by Steve Teasdale. The bookplate would fit most books on D-Day or the Parachute battalion.
Lieutenant Colonel Terence Brandram Hastings Otway DSO, (15 June 1914 – 23 July 2006) was an officer in the British Army, best known for his role as commander of the paratroop assault on the Merville Battery on D-Day.
