This is a specially produced bookplate made with recycled sepia card. It features the genuine signature of Lt Col Terence Otway, leader of the paras who famously attacked the Merville Battery at D-Day ( please see photo for more info of the raid ). The signature has been professionally mounted underneath an original pencil portrait drawing of Otway by Steve Teasdale. The bookplate would fit most books on D-Day or the Parachute battalion.
Lieutenant Colonel Terence Brandram Hastings Otway DSO, (15 June 1914 – 23 July 2006) was an officer in the British Army, best known for his role as commander of the paratroop assault on the Merville Battery on D-Day.
