A scarce original circa 1930's Amy Johnson badge in the form of her pioneering aeroplane 'Jason' in gilt and green enamel, the reverse with maker's details 'Miller 118 Branston St B'Ham' and 'Reg 755555' a Registration, Design and Patent number for the year 1930. Good condition. The original pin is fine but it looks like the hook has lost a little of its length snapped off the end - the pin still closes ok. Length approx 27mm.

In 1930 Amy Johnson became the first woman to fly solo from Croydon South of London to Darwin Australia, flying her 'Jason' Gipsy Moth aeroplane, these badges were sold as commemorative souvenirs. These badges are becoming scarce.
