This is a large Smiths WW2 military issued wall clock dated 1945 in full working order.
With a dial at 14inches in diameter and an overall diameter of just under 17inches, this is the larger version and would have been used in an RAF or Army mess room or office. It has the Astral movement as used in the WW2 Smiths sector clocks but has no issue markings on the case. The case is the WW2 wooden version. The clock is in full working order but gains approximately one minute per day. A key is included. Being a non-fusee movement, this clock has the advantage of being less temperamental than the pendulum version and will run without being hung exactly straight on the wall. The dial has been hand restored in an off white colour which looks beautiful when displayed on the wall. Please be aware that there are fine brush marks from the restoration when inspected closely. It looks like the black dial markings have not been touched by the restorer. This really is a beautiful clock which offers excellent value as a vintage WW2 military clock of larger size. We will not post this clock so please contact us to arrange collection from Yorkshire before purchasing. No overseas buyers unfortunately.
