On the night of 16th April 1941 Wing Commander Tom Pike, officer commanding 219 Sqn needed a radar operator to take on night patrol. He chose Flt Lt Terry Clark DFM, a reliable and talented radar operator with two kills to his credit. During this one night patrol their Beaufighter detected, engaged and shot down two enemy intruders. As a result of this action Tom Pike received the DFC and Terry Clark the DFM not long afterwards. This mint condition book includes a bookplate bearing the signature of Tom Pike (later Marshal of the Royal Air Force) and it has been signed by Terry Clark. I will also include a copy of Terry's logbook entry for the patrol which also includes Terry's signature in pencil. The book mentions the combat on that night.
