This is an old RAF pilot’s tie which was heavily used by the owner, Battle of Britain Spitfire pilot Clive Gosling who flew with 266 Suadron. Gosling went on to be a test pilot, flying the Me262 and Meteor. The tie looks ok from the front but has obviously been into battle with a hot iron at some point in it’s lifetime. It would still look great framed up with some other memorabilia or artwork and it is a rare opportunity to own something with RAF connections belonging to one of ‘The Few’ at a low cost.
