This is the famous 1961 first edition book which was the main reference resource for the 1969 Battle of Britain movie. Whilst the book is not in first class condition it has been used extensively by author Robert Wright as his own resource for the book he wrote on Hugh Dowding in 1969. Robert Wright was Dowdings personal assistant throughout the Battle of Britain and later worked with Keith Park and Sholto Douglas. He was also a Beaufighter navigator with 85 Sqn and became a Guinea Pig club member after a serious crash. The text is underlined and commented on throughout by Robert. It has been flat signed by Robert and dedicated to him by the author Derek Wood. The book has been further enhanced with an original pencil drawing with white highlights by Steve Teasdale. Robert Wright also worked as an advisor on the Battle of Britain movie. The dustjacket is creased in places with some chipping and would benefit from being replaced but the book itself, despite being well used, has little spotting. This is a historical volume given it’s provenance.
