This 1992 hardback by Doug Stokes is in excellent condition with a couple of minor marks on the dustjacket back which are difficult to see with a protective cover included. The book itself looks unread. This copy has been enhanced with a beautiful original pencil drawing of Paddy Finucane by Steve Teasdale. The drawing has been signed in pencil by the artist and Pilot Officer Norman Hancock, who flew with Finucane on 65 Sqn during the Battle of Britain. Hancock’s is a scarce signature and highly relevant to the book. Finucane was credited with 28 aerial victories, five probably destroyed, six shared destroyed, one shared probable victory and eight damaged. Included in his total were 23 Messerschmitt Bf 109s, four Focke-Wulf Fw 190s and one Messerschmitt Bf 110. Official records differ over the exact total. After the war it was confirmed that two of Finucane's "probable" victories had, in fact, been destroyed but were not officially included. His total victory count could be as high as 32. A lovely collectable copy.
