This is a specially produced bookplate featuring an original pencil drawing with white highlights by Steve Teasdale. Underneath the portrait drawing of 92 Sqn Battle of Britain Spitfire Ace Tony Bartley is a professionally mounted genuine Bartley signature. This bookplate measures approx 20x13 cm and would fit most books on the Battle of Britain , including Geoff Wellum’s First Light or Tony Bartleys own biography.
Tony Bartley flew with No. 92 Squadron through the Battle of France, seeing action over Dunkirk, and then during Battle of Britain, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) in October 1940, by which time he had been credited with shooting down at least eight enemy aircraft. He finished the war with 12 victories.
