This is a rare opportunity to purchase a Scarce and Unusual RAF Caterpillar Club Members Tie, blue silk with woven golden caterpillars. Worn exclusively by members of the famous club for downed RAF aircrew. What makes this tie extra special is that it comes from the estate of Battle of Britain Spitfire pilot Reginald Gosling, who went on to become a test pilot. Despite research we have been unable to determine when Gosling baled out of an aircraft but he did receive the award as we have a photograph of his Caterpillar Club card proving membership. This would look amazing as a framed piece.
