This original pencil portrait by Steve Teasdale depicts Amiens Prison Raid ( Operation Jericho ) Leader Percy Charles Pickard DSO & 2 Bars, DFC. Pickard was killed in his mosquito on the raid during a dogfight with FW190’s. His navigator, Flt Lt JA Broadley was also killed. The 487 Sqn RNZAF mosquito (HX922) crashed near the village of St, Gratien. The portrait also includes a piece of wreckage from the crash site of Pickard’s Mosquito, ready to mount underneath the drawing. This will look amazing framed up - We were very lucky to have three small pieces of the aircraft originally and this is the only piece still available for sale.

This is a real piece of RAF history from an incredibly daring raid.
