This 1999 hardback tells the riveting  story of Flt Lt Mike Allen DFC & 2 bars. He finished the war with 12 victories as a Nightfighter radar operator on Beaufighters. He and his pilot also flew in Turbinlight havocs which were designed to illuminate a target aircraft at night with a giant searchlight in the nose. The book includes an original pencil portrait of Allen by Steve Teasdale and the relatively rare genuine signature of Mike Allen mounted on the title page. Underneath Allen’s signature is the bonus signature of Battle of Britain gunner/ nightfighter radar operator ace Terry Clark DFM (6 vics). Terry and Mike were friends and often drank together when stationed on Turbinlights. Terry is mentioned in the book and the men continued to keep in touch after the war. This is a great read and covers a relatively unknown area of air fighting. The book is in excellent, like new condition.
