This 1966 1st Ed hardback book by Richard Collier is widely considered to be one of the classic accounts of the Battle of Britain, produced from first hand testimonies from both sides. This particular copy was presented and signed by Richard Collier to Robert Wright, himself an author, who was Lord Dowding’s personal aide and confidante during the Battle of Britain. It also features a superb original signed drawing by Steve Teasdale of Battle of Britain fighter pilot RH Smyth DFC AE who flew with 111 and 249 Sqns. Smyth has signed the drawing in pencil as well as the artist. The book is in very good condition, with very slight spotting on the pages edges only noticeable when the book is closed. The whole dustjacket has some minor creasing, marks and stain but nothing substantial. This is a nice collectable version of an excellent book.
