This is a lovely example of this harder to find first edition from 1955. Released at a similar time as the early biographies such as Reach for The Sky and Fly For Your Life, this book tells the story of one of the bravest flyers of World War 2. The book itself is in very good condition with hardly any browning to the pages. The whole dustjacket has minimal wear, chips etc although the spine is slightly browned. For a seventy years old book it is in remarkable condition. The book features an original pencil portrait of Cheshire VC on the first flyleaf by Steve Teasdale. Professionally mounted underneath the portrait is the genuine signature of Leonard Cheshire. It is uncommon to find this hardback in such nice condition due to it’s age.
